Removes Stubborn Ear Wax Buildup
Gentle and Convenient
Better hearing. Better life.
What is Microsuction?
Microsuction is a procedure for removing earwax buildup from the ear canal using a specialized device that uses gentle suction to extract the wax. It is considered a safe and effective method for earwax removal, as it does not involve inserting any objects into the ear, such as ear candles or cotton swabs, which can potentially cause damage.
Think of microsuction as a vacuum cleaner for your ears. Just as a vacuum cleaner uses suction to remove dirt and debris from your carpet, microsuction uses gentle suction to extract earwax buildup from your ear canal. It's like a tiny, specialized vacuum cleaner designed specifically for the delicate task of cleaning out your ears.

What to expect from your appointment
In some cases, where wax is difficult to remove because it is too hard, you may be advised to continue with softening drops and Abi will rebook the appointment.
The whole consultation with medical history, consent, procedure, and aftercare advice should not take longer than 30 minutes.
Everybody is different and some people produce more wax than others. We recommend having wax removed every 3, 6 or 12 months depending on your need.
We recommend that 5-10 days before your appointment, you start using softening drops such as Earol (available at chemists and some supermarkets) in your affected ear or both. This will help make the wax removal successful.
The procedure should not be painful, especially if softening drops have been used. If in the instance, it does become painful, please let the practitioner know immediately and they will stop.
There are different options for payment depending on your preferred choice. You can pay on the day through BACS transfer or using the portable Sum up card machine. An email receipt will be sent to you. You may also pay in cash if you prefer. We unfortunately do not accept cheques.
